Charleston, WV
Park # 91
What I Remember
Watt Powell Park was an old classic. Applachian Power Park, which opened in Charleston since our trip, was an improvement for fans in almost every respect but the old park had a lot of character.
I remember going out on the railroad tracks behind the stadium to see what the view looked like from back there, you’ll get a sense of it in the video embedded below.
The Game
Charleston Wheelers 2 Greensboro Hornets 1
As a reminder, the South Atlantic League was one of the majority of minor leagues that used a split-season format in 1991 so, although it was late June, the teams were just starting their second season.
